With modern gadgets getting minute in size and big in function, contemporary designers seems to follow the catchword “small is the new big,” which is equally supported by latest advancements in technology. Earlier this year we came across the Sony’s roll-up OLED display concept, and now Chinese designer Wang Yifei has come up with a foldable phone, the Nokia E10, which lets you roll out the display to make or receive mail, and when not in use you may simply stash it to place in your pocket. Prior to the concept, Nokia has already registered a patent describing the integration of foldable displays into mobile phones, though there are indications that the technology would cover a wide range of consumer devices like portable music players, notebooks, etc.

The inspiration

Usually gadgets with soft screen or scroll screen do not support touch control and one-hand control if the screen is very large. This inspired the designer to develop a portable gadget that would make the functions of a scroll screen simple and user-friendly on the go. Moreover, foldable phones are a niche that is new not only for users but for designers as well.

What makes it so special?

First of its kind, the Nokia E10 phone features a bendable screen that works in two different modes, i.e. cellphone and tablet, thanks to the flexible, folding structure, to enhance the experience of the user. Now, users will be able to carry their tablet alongside the cellphone in their pocket. Locating three solar batteries, together with a lithium battery, at the rear, the futuristic cellphone ensures steady battery backup to support extended chatter and work sessions, while addressing the environmental concerns.

Lamborghini is something that I’d love to call real beast that not only flexes its muscles on the roads but also spreading its tentacles in the electronic world. After laptops, garden tools, cell phones and God know what not, the brand is now coming up with luxury mobile phones. For that matter, the automaker has teamed up with Tonino to release its Spyder line of luxury mobile phones in Hong Kong. The series will include six phones Viz. S-600, S-610, S-620, S-670, S-680 and S-685. All the mobile phones will be decked with out in stainless steel casing, sapphire screen with Lamborghini-branded headset. In order to chisel the looks to perfection, all the mobile phones are handmade and hand polished.

Among the six mobile phones, the higher end S-670, S-680 and S-685 have rose gold, gold and black/gold PVD finishes; whereas the S-600 gets DLC(Diamond-Like Coating) and S-610 及 S-620 have black PVD finish. Tonino Lamborghini Spyder phones will feature 2.2-inch 240×320 LCD display, 3 Megapixel camera with VGA video recording and front camera with GSM/EDGE and 3G support.
